Our Mountain Krampus
In recent years various places around the world have reawakened the 500+ year old Krampus tradition. With costumes, drums and even a movie-- it's time for Krampus to come the the High Rockies.

Krampus
Stories...
Krampus is thought to be part of pre-Christian Alpine traditions in Europe. He was outlawed in the 1930s with by Christian Fascists as part of the Nazi rise.
S/He is a wild and irreverent. Playing the bad cop to Saint Nicholas, Krampus would hit bad kids with birch sticks. Before this, however, it reached back to the deep winter of the mountains, and the spirits that abide there.

Making your Costume
This year I'll host a costume making party if you want to come be a part of a group. We will be doing some horn work (big and small) and playing with any fake fur we can snag from thrift stores.
If you have any unwanted fake fur please let us know!
Even if you just have horns and a whip of branches, I think you're ready to go.
